5 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Chimps Safari offers you a chance to trek both the Mountain Gorillas at Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri and Chimpanzees of Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Ruhengeri
Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park
Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali
You arrive at the Kigali International Airport where you are welcomed and picked up by a driver guide who transfers you to the vast Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route visit the historical and cultural sites in Butare and Nyanza. You shall also visit the National Museum and the National University in Butare as well as the Old King’s Palace (Old Mwami’s palace) in Nyanza. After a while, you shall reach in Nyanza in the evening then to lodge for Dinner and Overnight at Gisakura guest House/Nyungwe Forest Lodge
Delicious breakfast in the morning then transfer to enjoy chimpanzee tracking in the park. You shall proceed to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Chimpanzees then later you shall be allocated into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who transfer you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the green thick forest to track the chimpanzees.
After a while following trails in the forest for a period of 2 to 4 hours watching bird species, primates. After a while, you shall meet the Chimpanzees and stay in their presence taking many photos for a period of 1 hour. After trekking the chimpanzees, you shall transfer to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Gisakura guest house/Nyungwe Forest Lodge.
Delicious morning breakfast then embark on transfer to Volcanoes National Park for a period of 6 to 7 hours with en-route views of the green terrain, bird species. After a while you reach the vast beautiful Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri District. Proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.
Breakfast early in the morning then transfer to enjoy Gorilla Trekking in the Park. You shall transfer to the Kinigi headquarters where you are welcomed by park ranger guides who take you through briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas. Later they shall allocate you into groups of 8 with lead park rangers who transfer you to the starting points then into the green forest vegetation habitat following varying trails for a period of 3 to 5 hours.
You shall transfer from one point to another watching the green terrain, bird species as the rangers inform you about the Park, habitat and Mountain Gorilla Groups you shall trek. After a while, you shall meet the Gorillas and in an hour stay in their presence taking many photos to keep. After trekking the Gorillas, you shall transfer to the park headquarters to obtain your trekking certificate then later continue to lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.
Leisure breakfast then with luggage, embark on departure to the Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.
